Teen twins' books inspired by marine life
Nathan and Aaron Crossan photograph Wakatobi's reef life

Nathan and Aaron Crossan have a passion for the underwater. The 14-year-old twins from London, UK, are fascinated by reef life, and on a recent trip to Wakatobi, the young authors recorded almost 500 species which they hope to include in their next field guide, which they photograph and research themselves.
"We enjoyed Wakatobi the most because it's got a lot more species," explains Nathan. "Just in one holiday here we've recorded almost 500 species. That's a lot more diversity which is really exciting. This makes each snorkel and dive fun, because you're always seeing something new."
The boys were supported by Wakatobi dive guides Aswan and Frengki, who were able to show the boys marine life that's otherwise missed by untrained eyed. "Aswan and Frengki helped us a lot," say the twins. "We're not that good yet! Towards the end we were spotting nudibranchs and some of the bigger species we know we're still looking for, but the guides are really, really good at spotting things."
