Gil Zeimer

Scuba Storyteller

I was PADI-certified as an Open Diver in 1985 in a reservoir south of Dallas, TX, USA. After a few bone-chilling experiences in Northern California, I have dived exclusively in warm water ever since then in Australia, Micronesia (Palau and Kosrae), four of the Hawaiian Islands, Mexico, and throughout the Caribbean.

I've been a travel writer and scuba storyteller for over 30 years now, as well as a diver for more than 40 years.

My experience includes writing more than 150 scuba articles published in newspapers, magazines, and websites, as well as another 200 newsletters for scuba clubs and dive-related clients.

My articles have appeared in Dive Pacific, Asian Diver, Scuba Diving Industry Magazine, Scuba Times, Alert Diver, Adventure Journal, California Diving News, ScubaShow.com, ScubaRadio.com, inDEPTH Magazine, X-Ray Magazine, Red Sail Sports, Sport Diver Interactive, Dive Travel, ScubaDiverLife.com, LocalGetaways.com, Undercurrent, Traveling Diver’s Chapbook, the San Francisco Chronicle, the Marin Independent Journal, the Los Angeles Times, and more.

A book containing 65 of my underwater adventures debuted on Amazon in December 2025: "Scuba Storyteller: Mostly Humorous Diving Tales by an Addicted AquaNut". Read more: www.ScubaStoryteller.com.
